# Privacy Notice

**Last updated: 28 July 2026**

## About this notice

This privacy notice explains how Star My Business collects and uses personal information submitted through the soft-launch application page and its embedded ScoreApp questionnaire.

For the purposes of data protection law, **[insert the legal name of the person or business operating Star My Business]**, trading as Star My Business, is the data controller responsible for deciding how this information is used.

You can contact us about your personal information at **[insert contact email address]**.

## Information we collect

When you complete the questionnaire, we may collect:

* your name and contact details;
* your business name, website and industry;
* information about your business and its customer-feedback requirements;
* your answers to the questionnaire;
* your questionnaire result or score; and
* technical information that may be collected when you use the embedded form, such as your IP address, browser, device and usage information.

Please do not include sensitive personal information or confidential information that is not necessary for your application.

## How the questionnaire works

The questionnaire is provided through an embedded form operated by **ScoreApp**, a service supplied by Hyper Targeted Marketing Limited.

Information entered into the questionnaire is transmitted to and stored through ScoreApp. ScoreApp processes this information on behalf of Star My Business so that we can receive and assess applications.

ScoreApp may also collect technical information and use cookies or similar technologies when its embedded form loads. Further information about how ScoreApp processes and protects personal information is available in the [ScoreApp Privacy Policy](https://www.scoreapp.com/privacy-policy/).

## How we use your information

We use the information submitted through the questionnaire to:

* assess whether your business is suitable for the Star My Business soft launch;
* contact you about your application;
* select participating businesses;
* organise and manage the free trial;
* understand the needs of potential users; and
* improve the Star My Business platform and soft-launch programme.

Your questionnaire result may help us assess your application, but selection will not be based solely on an automated decision.

We will not add you to a general marketing list unless you have separately agreed to receive marketing communications.

## Our legal basis

We process your information because:

* it is necessary to take steps at your request before potentially entering into a trial arrangement with you; and
* we have a legitimate interest in assessing applications, selecting suitable participants and improving the Star My Business platform.

Where we ask for consent for a separate purpose, such as email marketing, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

## Who receives your information

Your information may be accessed by:

* authorised members of the Star My Business team;
* ScoreApp, acting as our questionnaire and data-processing provider;
* service providers supporting the secure operation of the website or platform; and
* professional advisers or public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

We do not sell your personal information.

ScoreApp may use approved service providers and may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, appropriate data-transfer safeguards are required. Further details are available through ScoreApp’s privacy policy and terms.

## How long we retain it

We will normally retain application information for no longer than **12 months after the soft-launch selection process has ended**.

Where a business is selected, relevant information may be retained for the duration of the trial and for up to 12 months afterwards so that we can manage the trial, review feedback and maintain appropriate business records.

Information may be deleted sooner where it is no longer required, or retained longer where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or deal with a dispute.

## Your rights

Subject to applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:

* request access to your personal information;
* ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
* request the deletion of your information;
* ask us to restrict how it is used;
* object to particular uses of your information;
* receive certain information in a portable format; and
* withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at **[insert contact email address]**.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve the matter. You also have the right to raise a concern with the [Irish Data Protection Commission](https://www.dataprotection.ie/en/individuals/exercising-your-rights/raising-concern-commission).

## Changes to this notice

We may update this notice if the questionnaire, soft-launch programme or way we process personal information changes. The latest version will be published on this website.
